Director - Event Content FTC 6 months

We are seeking maternity cover for our Head of Event Content to lead the content development and delivery of Expana's global event portfolio.

This is a hands-on role with management responsibilities: you'll be directly in charge of shaping agendas, securing high-level speakers and ensuring seamless delivery of compelling event programmes. You'll manage and mentor an Event Content Manager, working together to produce agendas that deliver value for delegates, sponsors, and the wider business.

• Lead on agenda development across flagship conferences, summits, and roundtables.
• Research industry developments and customer needs to ensure sessions are timely, relevant, and commercially impactful.
• Identify, approach, and secure senior-level speakers, building strong relationships with industry leaders.
• Manage and support the Event Content Manager to deliver high-quality event programmes and meet deadlines.
• Work with internal experts to translate data and insights into compelling event content.
• Oversee speaker communications, ensuring they are well-briefed and prepared.
• Collaborate with event operations, marketing, and sales colleagues to ensure agendas support delegate acquisition, sponsorship sales, and brand positioning.
• Deliver additional content such as webinars, written blogs etc as part of the delegate acquisition journey.
• Be present on-site to manage speaker logistics, stage flow, and audience engagement.
• Contribute to post-event content, helping repurpose sessions into thought leadership.

• Significant experience in event content production / agenda management within B2B media, data, or information services.
• Strong editorial judgement with the ability to shape commercially valuable agendas.
• Track record of engaging senior executives and securing high-calibre speakers.
• People management experience - able to lead, mentor and get the best from a small team.
• Highly organised, comfortable juggling multiple events with competing deadlines.
• Commercial awareness - understands how agendas drive delegate attendance, sponsorship, and pipeline.
• Confident communicator, relationship-builder and team player.

Contract Terms

·       Duration: 6 months maternity cover (with possible extension)

·       Location: London, hybrid (1-2 days in office, plus event travel)

·       Some travel to events may be required
