Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their early development and learning. Prior experience in nursery settings and early childhood education is highly desirable, along with strong communication skills and a passion for childcare.

Duties

  • To assist with the implementation of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • To help set up the nursery for the daily programme and to help tidy away at the end of each session
  • To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff which is learned as part of the job
  • To advise the manager of any concerns e.g over staff, children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary
  • Provide full care for all children including collection from school and the safe delivery to parents and or named carers.
  • Ensure that snacks are provided and meeting the required standards if hygiene, health and safety
  • Administration of first aid and recording of medication
  • Monitor and maintain a healthy, safe and secure working environment
  • To facilitate children's learning, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulation
  • Maintaining children's behaviour through consistent implementation of Happy Hands behavioural strategies
  • Awareness of your role and responsibility under the child protection of legalisation and reporting any concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead or Manager
  • To attend staff meetings
  • To attend in-service training courses and meetings as required
  • Contribute to good communication with all members of the organisation and with the wider community including parents, schools and childcare agencies
  • Work within agreed policies
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the manger, in accordance with the pre-school business plan/objective

Requirements

  • Diploma in Pre-school Practice/Level 3 qualification in childcare
  • Willingness to learn
  • Previous experience of working with young children
  • Evidence of qualifications

Job Type: Temporary

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: £12.21 per hour
