Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Apprentice Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant nursery team. This paid apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about childcare and eager to develop their skills in a supportive environment. The role involves assisting with the care and development of young children, supporting nursery activities, and gaining valuable experience in early years education. Responsibilities

  • Support qualified nursery staff in delivering high-quality care and educational activities for children aged 0-5 years
  • Assist with organising daily routines, including playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods
  • Engage with children through play, conversation, and age-appropriate learning activities to promote development
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming nursery environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Support behavioural management strategies under supervision to encourage positive behaviour
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping and updating children's progress files

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or in childcare settings is desirable but not essential; a genuine interest in early years is required
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated management and leadership qualities or potential to develop these skills through the apprenticeship programme
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A proactive attitude towards learning and professional development
  • Prior nursery experience or qualifications related to early years education are advantageous but not mandatory
