About the Role:
We are seeking a
Head of Compliance
to lead our international operation. The successful candidate will ensure our fund administration activities adhere to all relevant international regulatory requirements, fostering a strong compliance culture and managing risks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance Framework:
Enhance, implement, and oversee the global compliance framework aligned with international best practice, maintaining compliance policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. - Regulatory Compliance:
Act as a subject matter expert on global regulatory changes ensuring Opus complies with Irish, Cayman and Bermuda AML/ATF and FATCA regulations, and regulatory standards relevant to fund administration, such as AIFMD, UCITS rules. - Risk Management:
Identify and assess compliance risks across Opus's operations and advise senior management on risk mitigation strategies. - Internal Reporting:
Provide regular reporting to senior management and the board of directors on compliance matters, including risks, breaches, emerging trends, and team performance - Regulatory Reporting and Liaison:
Manage relationships with regulators, prepare and submit required reports, and ensure timely communication of compliance issues. - Training and Culture:
Promote a strong compliance culture and ethical standards within Opus through training programs and ongoing awareness initiatives. - Monitoring and Testing:
Oversee ongoing monitoring and testing of compliance controls, conducting audits, and addressing any deficiencies identified. - Global Coordination:
Act as an escalation point compliance-related queries, collaborate with regional compliance teams, legal advisors, and operational units across jurisdictions to ensure consistent compliance standards. - Team Management:
Set goals for the team and monitor the team's productivity accuracy, timeliness, and adherence with procedures. Maintain and improve the efficiency of compliance processes and systems
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in compliance within financial services, with significant experience in fund administration or asset management.
- Deep understanding of Irish regulations, AIFMD, UCITS, AML, and international compliance standards.
- Experience working with regulators such as the Central Bank of Ireland, Bermuda Monetary Authority and Cayman Islands Monetary Authority with a strong understanding of the key laws and regulations applicable in each jurisdiction
- Bachelor's degree in law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CAMS, CISA, CFA) preferred.
- Proven leadership and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to manage a dispersed, global team
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to interpret complex regulatory changes and implement effective policies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
