Head Chef – Greenways Care Home, Glasgow
Near the River Clyde, Greenways Care Home is a stunning new, purpose-built residence designed to deliver exceptional residential, nursing, dementia, and respite care for up to 58 residents. Built around comfort, dignity, and community, Greenways will set new standards in quality living and food will be at the heart of that experience.

We're seeking a talented and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen and create dining experiences that delight every resident. From beautifully balanced, flavour-filled dishes to the warmth and professionalism of your leadership, you'll help shape Greenways into a home where every meal brings comfort, connection, and joy.

As Head Chef, you'll take ownership of all kitchen operations - from crafting seasonal menus and preparing nutritious, imaginative meals to managing stock, budgets, and hygiene standards with precision. You'll lead and inspire your kitchen team, guiding them to deliver consistently high standards of food preparation, presentation, and safety. Working closely with the Head of Hospitality and the Home Manager, you'll design menus that reflect residents' preferences and dietary needs while ensuring variety, freshness, and value.

Your day will be full of creativity and purpose: planning and cooking meals that nourish both body and soul; ensuring compliance and record-keeping are meticulous; and developing a cohesive, motivated team that takes pride in every plate served. You'll also support staff training, recruitment, and scheduling, fostering a collaborative kitchen that runs smoothly and efficiently.

Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications

  • City & Guilds 706 1 & 2, or equivalent (or working towards).
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 minimum).
  • Proven experience supervising or managing a kitchen team.
  • Ability to collaborate with staff and residents with professionalism and warmth.
  • Confident in managing kitchen operations independently.

Desirable Experience: Preparing meals for specific dietary needs or working in a care environment (advantageous but not essential).
