Myriad Global Media is a creative communications agency specialising in film, animation, and digital learning for the energy, infrastructure, and technology sectors. We help organisations communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively through engaging and visually compelling media.

We're expanding our digital learning team following a major new contract in the energy sector. We're looking for a talented E-Learning Instructional Designer who can turn technical information into clear, engaging learning experiences.

Role Overview

You'll be responsible for shaping and scripting e-learning modules from technical materials such as PowerPoints, manuals, and SME interviews. You'll write, structure, and storyboard courses that educate and engage - collaborating with visual designers and developers who handle the build and animation.

This is a creative yet structured role for someone who enjoys making complex information easy to understand, especially within 
health, safety, and operational
 topics in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write and design e-learning modules using sound instructional design principles.
  • Analyse and interpret source materials to create clear learning outcomes and storyboards.
  • Collaborate with SMEs and project managers to structure content logically and accurately.
  • Develop scripts, on-screen text, quizzes, and scenarios that drive engagement and retention.
  • Provide creative input on interactivity, tone, and user experience.
  • Work closely with designers and developers during production and review stages.
  • Ensure content aligns with client branding and LMS requirements (SCORM/xAPI).

Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • 2+ years' experience designing or writing e-learning or interactive training.
  • Strong understanding of instructional design and adult learning principles.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with an eye for clarity and tone.
  • Comfortable working with technical or safety-related subject matter.
  • Ability to visualise how content will appear in a digital learning environment.
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the energy, engineering, or health & safety industries.
  • Familiarity with Articulate 360 or similar authoring tools.
  • Knowledge of LMS publishing formats (SCORM/xAPI).
  • Basic understanding of graphic design or motion principles (not essential).
