Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Senior Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong culinary background and demonstrate excellent leadership skills. Ye Olde Plough House is a extremely popular function venue, the ideal candidate will have previous experience in function catering.

Duties

  • Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and food preparation.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with menu specifications.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
  • Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
  • Monitor portion sizes and presentation standards to ensure consistency across all dishes.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a culinary role, preferably within a restaurant setting.
  • Strong supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food production techniques and culinary practices.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality.
  • Excellent cooking skills with a passion for creating exceptional dishes.
  • Previous experience in managing kitchen operations is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
