In order to expand our Technical function we are recruiting a Quality Manager to join our multi site, fast-paced, food manufacturing business, based in Rochdale.

We are an ambitious and growing SME, who are searching for their new Quality Manager who will play a key role in shaping what the Quality Assurance and wider Technical operation looks like for the future of Lancashire Farm Dairies, as we continue to expand plant and product offering.

The person who will be successful within this Quality Manager position will be an individual who is driven to succeed and confident working autonomously. You will utilise your strong attention to detail and take an organised approach to your workload.

When it comes to your experience, we are looking for you to have worked within Food Manufacturing and that have experience of working to BRC standards. If you've got experience working within a dairy processing environment, as well as holding a degree level qualification in a Food Science discipline and have had exposure to managing small teams that would be fantastic, however it is not essential.

Your responsibilities as Quality Manager will include:

  • Ensuring the correct implementation of HACCP and Quality Management Systems
  • To work in conjunction with all relevant departments to provide guidance and coaching to ensure compliance against hygiene, QMS and customer standards
  • Supporting the Technical Manager in preparing for BRC audits and customer visits
  • Managing the delivery of the objectives and personal development of the Quality Assurance team
  • Leading and motivating the QA team and driving a culture that promotes the continuous improvement of both product quality and factory standards across the site
  • Ensuring that the traceability system is complete and challenged regularly to ensure compliance
  • Leading non-conformance investigations and ensuring that the necessary corrective actions are agreed and implemented within the allocated timeframe
  • Liaising with managers from other departments and staff throughout the business to ensure quality standards our maintained.
  • You will be responsible for undertaking and recording audit activity including but not limited to Hygiene, Fabrication audits and Glass Brittle audits raising any Non-Conformances and coordinating/facilitating the closure of such Non-Conformances and verification of corrective actions taken.
  • Oversee the hygiene team to ensure equipment and work areas are cleaned to the required standard.
