Location: Rochdale / North West Region

Salary: £37,500 – £45,000 (depending on experience) + Company Vehicle + Performance Bonus

About Us

TM Roofing Service N/W Ltd is a rapidly growing roofing contractor specialising in planned works, reactive maintenance, and new-build roofing projects across the North West, North East, and Midlands.

We work with housing associations, councils, and national contractors — delivering projects to the highest standard under Constructionline Gold, SafeContractor, and NFRC accreditations.

We're now looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to oversee our field teams, drive performance, and ensure jobs run efficiently, profitably, and on time.

The Role

This is a leadership role for someone with real-world roofing experience who can manage people, processes, and performance. You'll be the driving force behind the day-to-day operations, making sure every job runs smoothly from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all field teams working on pitched and flat roofing projects.
  • Plan and manage job schedules to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Ensure materials are ordered, delivered, and available on-site in advance.
  • Conduct regular site visits to check progress, quality, and safety compliance.
  • Communicate daily with team leaders and operatives to monitor progress.
  • Identify and resolve on-site issues quickly to keep projects on track.
  • Recruit, manage, and (where required) discipline or replace team members.
  • Work closely with the Managing Director and Commercial team to maintain profitability and performance standards.
  • Support teams hands-on where needed to push deadlines or critical works.
  • Keep tight control on costs, labour efficiency, and material usage.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in roofing operations management.
  • Strong technical knowledge of pitched and flat roofing systems.
  • Previous experience managing multiple teams and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Leadership qualities with the confidence to make tough decisions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and hit tight deadlines.
  • Full UK driving licence (regional travel required).
  • SMSTS / SSSTS or equivalent health & safety qualification desirable.
