Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Exec Head Chef & Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and production. This position requires strong leadership abilities, a commitment to food safety, and a dedication to delivering exceptional hospitality experiences.

Duties

  • Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff management.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
  • Prepare high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Ensure that all food production meets health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings.
  • Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage food costs effectively.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times.
  • Help foster a positive team environment that encourages collaboration and creativity.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary role, with an emphasis on fresh quality produce & volume.
  • Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and food production processes.
  • Excellent leadership abilities with experience in team management and supervising staff.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
  • Culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are advantageous.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
