Role description:
We are looking to recruit a passionate and experienced
Water Capability Lead – CCM
to lead our Cost and Commercial Management team. This role is key to building integrated UK and global teams that deliver high-performing, efficient solutions aligned with our clients' evolving needs. You will play a pivotal role in driving capability development, supporting team growth and adaptation, and ensuring alignment with our long-term Water Strategy

As part of our Cost Management team, you'll be involved in a wide range of projects from global and high profile to small and impactful, ensuring they're delivered on time and to budget. Your expertise in planning, estimating, budgeting and managing costs will drive growth and smarter working.

Role accountabilities:
Core Accountabilities

  • Undertake a key role within the UK Water Leadership team.
  • Accountable for the line management of the capability, working with the Capability Director to implement an appropriate line management structure.
  • Build strong working relationships with other Water capability leads and across Arcadis to drive better collaboration.
  • Monitor team performance and proactively manage workload to maintain and outperform utilisation and billability targets.
  • Develop mitigation and corrective actions to drive CB and utilisation performance to target, and report regularly to Water Leadership.
  • Work with the Capability Director to develop a recruitment plan aligned to current and future needs, supporting capability growth in line with capacity requirements.
  • Undertake succession planning for key roles to build a resilient and future-ready team.
  • Work with Talent Acquisition to drive required growth aligned to the recruitment plan and report progress to Water Leadership.
  • Build strong working relationships with the BA Service Lead to lead the capability service (local and GEC) community in line with global workstream objectives.
  • Enable service transformation and cultural change with a strong focus on service excellence.
  • With BA leadership, create an environment of consistent, high-quality delivery, recognised as best-in-class through a relentless focus on exceeding client expectations.
  • Set and ensure the highest standards of service quality, including full integration of PCRA and progressive assurance approaches to support risk reduction and client satisfaction.
  • Work with the Capability Director, Portfolio Directors, and the wider community to integrate standardisation, automation, and digitalisation into the service offering, identifying opportunities for innovation.
  • Assess capability to support growth and identify upskilling or training requirements to meet current and future market needs.
  • Work with the BA Service Lead to promote targeted learning and development initiatives that meet client needs and mandatory training requirements.
  • Drive GEC integration to ensure consistency of service regardless of location.

Shared Accountabilities

  • Work with Portfolio Directors to provide the necessary resources to support project delivery.
  • Work with Portfolio Directors, providing commercial subject matter expert (SME) support for key accounts and projects across the entire Water portfolio
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Directors and Account Leads to understand, shape, and develop future pipelines to inform resourcing and capability planning.
  • Share visibility of resource availability across Water clients to maximise utilisation.
  • Support implementation and embedding of initiatives from the global service roadmap and workstreams, working closely with the BA Service Lead.
  • Partner with Solution Leads and service teams to co-develop integrated offerings for Water clients.
  • Engage with wider teams to deliver effective PCRA and quality assurance activities.

Qualifications & Experience:

You are a technically capable with experience in design of water infrastructure projects and come to us with a proven track record of leading large, diverse, capability and service focused teams and supporting the delivery of all Water projects and opportunities from a Service Line perspective. Demonstrate significant leadership capability and the ability to inspire geographically dispersed teams around a common set of processes, procedures, systems and tools. Ability to collaborate closely with the Water Senior Leadership team to proactively drive towards meeting our common targets.

Further Required Competencies And Experiences

  • Demonstrated experience as senior technical expert in the Service Line including links to Professional bodies
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen and complex contract management and negotiation skills
  • Technology enabled and digital in mindset, proven in the field of delivering diverse projects for clients in service area
  • Technical Excellence attitude and strategic focus with excellent commercial drive and decisiveness
