About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Resourcing Manager to join VVB on a 9-month maternity cover contract. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the design, development, and delivery of innovative recruitment and emerging talent strategies across the organisation.

You will also take the lead in shaping and managing our Emerging Talent programmes, including Graduate, Apprentice, and Industrial Placement schemes, ensuring the business continues to attract, develop, and retain the next generation of talent.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment:

  • Partner with Senior Leadership, Heads of Departments, and recruiting managers to understand current and future resourcing needs.
  • Design and implement recruitment strategies and campaigns that deliver high-quality talent in line with business objectives.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on resourcing, providing innovative, cost-effective, and timely recruitment solutions.
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process in line with company policy, coaching and supporting hiring managers throughout.
  • Oversee the use and optimisation of the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and Candidate Management System (CMS).
  • Source candidates directly through networks, referrals, and targeted approaches to reduce external recruitment spend.
  • Develop and manage relationships with third-party providers, ensuring clear KPIs and value-driven outcomes.
  • Monitor recruitment activity, track costs, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all recruitment activity complies with legislation, equality, diversity, and inclusion best practices.
  • Support senior stakeholders during interviews, offering expert advice and participation where required.

Emerging Talent:

  • Design and deliver VVB's Graduate, Apprentice, and Industrial Placement programmes.
  • Work closely with mentors, colleges, and universities to ensure all Emerging Talent initiatives are fit for purpose and aligned with business goals.
  • Provide ongoing support and performance management for apprentices, acting as the main liaison with training providers.
  • Drive engagement and retention through innovative development initiatives and mentoring structures.

About You:

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience managing full-cycle recruitment and talent acquisition processes.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at all levels.
  • Experience within the construction and/or engineering industry.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing recruitment strategies and campaigns.
  • Hands-on experience with ATS and CMS platforms.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, flexible, and forward-thinking approach.

Desired:

  • Experience building and managing Emerging Talent programmes.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent.
  • Degree or postgraduate qualification in HR or a related field.
  • Strong industry networks and knowledge of resourcing within a project-based environment.
