A mental health recovery worker provides practical support, advice, and emotional guidance to individuals with mental health problems, helping them build life skills and achieve independence.
Role Overview:
Support customers using the service to develop independence, daily living skills, and positive social networks. Work under guidance to assess, implement, and review individual support plans while ensuring the safe and effective running of the service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver practical support to customers, including outreach and community engagement.
- Assess, admit, and discharge customers, carrying out risk assessments and management.
- Maintain accurate records and assist with administrative duties.
- Ensuring health and safety of all.
- Facilitate review meetings and liaise with other services while maintaining confidentiality.
- Participate in handovers, debriefing, quality assurance, training, and service development.
- Provide flexible support, including occasional lone working.
Requirements:
- Experience supporting people with mental health needs.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
- Awareness of health and safety responsibilities and risk management.
- Commitment to personal development and contributing to service improvements.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level B2: Can adjust to the changes of direction, style and emphasis normally found in conversation. Can produce stretches of language with a fairly even tempo; although they can be hesitant as they search for patterns and expressions, there are few noticeably long pauses.
