We are looking for a friendly and engaging bar person to join our small team here at The white Horse Pub, Cheslyn Hay.

We are a long standing community village pub predominantly serving our local community. After taking over the management of this establishment in 2020 we are looking to expand on what the pub has to offer to the village. We will be providing the community with a central meeting hub for friend and family gatherings. With regular entertainment, food and a welcoming & comfortable atmosphere that encourages visitors both near and far.

With this in mind, the right employee will have a minimum of six months experience, be confident and have strong customer service skills that enable you to communicate with our customers in both a relaxed but professional manner. We expect our staff to remain observant of how much a customer is drinking and ensure that management is made aware of any potential concerns to ensure both customer and staff safety at all times. Keeping the bar tidy and clean at all times and fully stocked. Helping out with events and decorations when needed to. We are after a person that is willing to use their own initiative and go that bit extra for our pub.

You will be responsible for ensuring that customers meet the minimum age required to purchase any age restricted items and checking ID where necessary.

DUTIES

Will include but are not limited to:

  • Serving both alcoholic and none alcoholic beverages and taking food orders in person and on the phone.
  • Handle cash and electronic payments accurately, ensuring all transactions are processed efficiently.
  • Completing all daily, weekly and monthly tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, ensuring that all equipment is properly cleaned and stored.
  • Ensuring the bar is stocked and well presented.
  • General cleaning duties such as mopping up any spillages, glass collecting/washing, and generally maintaining all trade areas keeping them clean and clear, providing a safe environment for our customers to enjoy their time here at our humble hub.
  • Conversing with our customers is an essential part of the experience we wish for our patrons to experience when here, however we expect our staff to remain professional and deliver an all round enjoyable experience.
  • Working in a team environment and helping out with extra stuff when required.
  • Level 2 Food & Hygiene training will be provided if you do not currently hold a certificate.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From £12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 16 per week
