Pennine Garden Centre is looking for a skilled and motivated Lead Chef who can support the Catering Manager in ensuring our kitchen runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently. You'll play a key role in training and developing team members, creating delicious specials, and upholding the exceptional quality our customers know and love.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Lead Chef, you will:

  • Maintain high standards of food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
  • Support the Head Chef in leading and motivating the kitchen team.
  • Train and develop team members to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Create and deliver daily or seasonal specials that showcase creativity and flavour.
  • Ensure all food safety, hygiene, and allergen standards are consistently met.
  • Assist in stock control, ordering, and minimising food waste.
  • Help manage kitchen organisation, cleanliness, and efficiency.
  • Foster strong communication between the kitchen and front-of-house teams.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

The ideal Lead Chef will have:

  • Experience working in a busy, quality-focused kitchen.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional food and customer experiences.
  • The ability to inspire and train others to achieve high standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to food safety.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
