Job description

Are you passionate about animal welfare and looking for a hands-on role with a diverse range of species? Join our Animal Unit team and play a vital part in ensuring the highest standards of care for our College's animal collection.
What you'll do:

  • Care for a wide variety of animals including livestock, poultry, exotic mammals, fish, reptiles, and amphibians.

  • Clean accommodation and provide daily feeding.

  • Maintain accurate animal records and conduct regular health checks.

  • Administer medication as required.

  • Uphold health, safety, hygiene, and security procedures across the Animal Unit and practical areas.

  • Support learners with practical tasks and supervise volunteers.

This role will involve lone working on a Sunday, some Saturday's and some bank holidays. You will need to be self-motivated and have excellent time management. The successful candidate will hold a Level 2 Animal Care qualification or have significant professional experience.
