Job Introduction

Trinity Where Your Life Matters Ltd is a registered provider of supported accommodation for young people aged 16 to 18 years old. Our service offers a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for young people who may have experienced trauma, family breakdown, criminal or sexual exploitation, or other adverse life experiences. We focus on helping each young person build stability, independence, and confidence as they transition into adulthood.

This is a lone working position, and candidates must be comfortable working independently while maintaining a high standard of professionalism, safeguarding awareness, and communication. The role may include sleep-in shifts, which are paid at a flat rate of £35 per night, alongside day shifts of approximately 15 hours, paid at the agreed hourly rate.

As this role involves direct work with vulnerable children and young people, safer recruitment practices are strictly followed in line with current legislative and safeguarding guidance. All offers of employment are therefore subject to:

  • A satisfactory Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, including checks against the Children's Barred List.
  • Verification of employment history and references, including at least one from your most recent employer.
  • Confirmation of right to work in the UK and verification of identity and qualifications.
  • Completion of mandatory induction and safeguarding training prior to commencement of duties.

Job Purpose

To provide practical and emotional support to young people aged 16–18 living in supported accommodation, helping them develop the life skills and resilience needed for independent living. The role involves promoting safeguarding, personal development, and positive outcomes in accordance with organisational policies and statutory guidance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support and Care

  • Provide day-to-day support to young people in line with their individual support plans.
  • Promote independence by assisting with budgeting, cooking, health appointments, and education/employment opportunities.
  • Offer emotional support and guidance, acting as a positive role model.

2. Safeguarding and Wellbeing

  • Ensure the safety and welfare of all young people, reporting any concerns in line with safeguarding procedures.
  • Monitor and manage risks identified in support plans and risk assessments.
  • Respond promptly to incidents and emergencies, following organisational protocols.
  • Ensure health and safety procedure are followed.

3. Life Skills Development

  • Support young people in developing skills for independent living (e.g., managing finances, self-care, tenancy management).
  • Encourage engagement in education, training, or employment.
  • Facilitate activities that promote confidence, social skills, and well-being.

4. Administration and Record Keeping

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including daily logs, incident reports, and progress notes, reports, taking the lead in implementing the support plan for young people.
  • Contribute to support plan reviews and multi-agency meetings, all general meetings of the young person.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and confidentiality policies.

5. Teamwork and Communication

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes for young people.
  • Attend staff meetings, supervision, and training as required.
  • Communicate effectively with professionals, parents, and carers where appropriate.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Experience working with young people (preferably in a supported living or care setting).
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • NVQ level 3 in residential child care support is requiremnt but not essential
  • Ability to build positive relationships and manage challenging behavior.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advance IT skills espectualy microsoft word and other microsoft applications. and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins if required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.21-£13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 45 per week

Work Location: In person
