About the Role:

The Daily Mail Social Video team reaches more than 150 million+ followers across its platforms - making it one of the largest and most engaging social news channels in the world.

We're looking for a Channel Lead to drive content across Daily Mail TikTok account (24 million followers), and the Daily Mail Instagram account.

This is a senior creative and editorial leadership role, focused on creating social-first content. You'll oversee a team of producers, work closely with our teams in New York and Australia, and help shape how the Daily Mail shows up on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. You'll lead how we react to breaking stories, spot emerging trends, and develop original formats and storytelling ideas that take our social coverage to the next level.⸻

What You'll Do

• Lead the editorial strategy, creative direction and day-to-day output of Daily Mail's TikTok (24M) and Instagram channels.

• Oversee a team of producers creating smart, accurate and high-impact social content.

• React quickly to breaking and trending stories, driving creative and editorial direction.

• Help develop and launch original social-first content series, experiments and formats.

• Collaborate with teams in London, New York and Australia to coordinate global coverage.

• Distribute and adapt content across TikTok, Instagram and Facebook.

• Maintain brand voice, tone and visual identity across platforms.

• Use insights, analytics and social trends to guide decisions and growth strategy.⸻

Who You Are

• A social-native storyteller who lives and breathes platforms, formats and trends.

• A creative leader who's as comfortable reacting to breaking news as developing original ideas.

• Experienced in managing social and video teams, and producing high-volume, high-quality output.

• Confident leading cross-geo collaboration and fast-paced decision-making.

• Obsessed with what makes audiences engage, share and stick around.

• Calm, decisive, and thrives under pressure.⸻

Experience

• 5+ years in digital journalism, social media or video content leadership — ideally within a global media or news brand.

• Proven success running major social channels or growing large-scale audiences.

• Deep understanding of social storytelling, audience behaviour and platform nuances across TikTok, Instagram and Facebook.

• Experience creating and shaping original content or social-first series is a strong plus.⸻
