Rossdales Veterinary Surgeons has an exciting opportunity for a HR Administrator to join our professional Operations team supporting the HR function, Business Director and the wider practice.

Successful applicants will be proactive, versatile, approachable and reliable with an outstanding attention to detail. You will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (in particular Excel), HR information systems, databases and practice management software. Experience in HR Administration including recruitment and onboarding is essential.

Our HR function supports over 190 employees across four sites and you will be responsible for all recruitment activity and onboarding arrangements for the practice. Other responsibilities include maintaining the HR information system and processes in an accurate and timely manner and liaising with other key roles as necessary to ensure an effective recruitment and onboarding experience.

This is a full time, permanent position based in Exning, near Newmarket, and some travel to other sites may be required. Part time hours will also be considered.

The main aspects of this role include (but are not limited to):

Recruitment

  • Liaising with hiring managers on the Approval to Recruit process
  • Drafting, reviewing and updating job adverts and job descriptions
  • Advertising jobs on relevant websites
  • Managing the Recruitment mailbox
  • Candidate management, including notifying unsuccessful candidates
  • Dealing with candidate queries and speculative applicants
  • Maintaining the applicant tracking system to support HR reporting
  • Supporting with shortlisting candidates and arranging interviews
  • Preparing interview questions / scenarios with the hiring manager
  • Ensuring recruitment processes are fair, inclusive and compliant
  • Drafting offer letters and employment contracts for review and issue
  • Conducting pre-employment activities including right to work checks, reference requests, health questionnaires, RCVS registration where applicable

Onboarding

  • Keeping in touch with new starters before their induction
  • Ensuring all paperwork and compliance processes are completed
  • Liaising with line managers and other core functions to prepare and organise inductions
  • Entering new starter information on the HRIS, Sage
  • Liaising with new starter and Marketing & Events Coordinator for uniform requirements
  • Establishing a New Starter feedback review process
  • Maintaining probation reminders and processes

General

  • Maintaining accurate and up to date personnel records
  • Adhering to data privacy regulations
  • Assisting with HR data analysis e.g. recruitment metrics and headcount reporting
  • Improving talent attraction efforts
  • Supporting the HR Advisor with general day to day HR admintration tasks
  • Supporting the HR function and the Practice with any other duties or tasks reasonably requested
