HFG are partnering with a exiciting and reapdily gorwing InsureTech business who are seeking an ambitious, hands-on Financial Controller to lead core accounting and financial control processes and drive innovation across the finance function.

Reporting to the VP of Finance, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping financial operations, leading a small team, and embedding AI, automation, and advanced technology to support scalable growth.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, credit control, reconciliations, and ledger management.
  • Ensure accurate, timely month-end close and deliver high-quality financial reporting.
  • Manage FCA reporting, audits, and compliance.
  • Lead finance process improvements and technology-driven transformation projects.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, customer operations, and broker teams to align finance with commercial objectives.
  • Coach and develop a growing accounting team.

What you'll bring:

  • ACCA qualified (or equivalent) from a top 10 accounting firm.
  • Significant post-practice experience in industry, ideally within a fast-growing, tech-focused or insurtech environment.
  • Proven success leading AI, automation, or other technology-driven finance transformation projects.
  • Strong commercial acumen and leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive change.
  • Passion for innovation and a forward-thinking approach to finance.
