About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Private Client Solicitor to join a respected, full-service law firm with a strong regional presence and a reputation for excellence in Private Client work.

Our client is opening a new office in Chester as part of their continued expansion and growth. With roots and history based in Manchester, they are known for their client-centric approach, professional integrity, and commitment to excellence.

You will manage a varied caseload, providing high-quality legal advice and support to private clients on matters including Wills, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Administration of Estates.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Legal Advisory:
  • Providing expert legal advice on Wills, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Administration of Estates
  • Advising clients on tax planning and inheritance tax matters
  • Offering strategic guidance on estate planning
  • Keeping up to date with changes in legislation and best practices in private client law
• Case Management:
  • Managing a diverse caseload with a focus on delivering exceptional client service
  • Administering estates and managing the probate process
  • Handling matters from instruction through to completion
  • Ensuring all work is completed efficiently and to the highest standard
• Document Preparation:
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents, including wills, trust deeds, and powers of attorney
  • Preparing probate applications and estate accounts
  • Ensuring accuracy and compliance in all documentation
  • Managing complex estate administration
• Client Relationships:
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Working closely with clients on sensitive matters
  • Providing compassionate and professional service
  • Managing client expectations effectively
• Collaboration & Development:
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Supporting the department and participating in business development activities
  • Engaging in networking activities
  • Contributing to the growth of the Chester office

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements:

• Experience:
  • 2+ years PQE in Private Client
  • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales)
  • Experience working in a Private Client team
  • Proven track record managing Wills, Probate, LPAs, and Estate Administration
• Excellent planning and prioritising skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively
• Strong client care and relationship-building skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Commercial awareness and business development mindset

Desirable:

• STEP accreditation or SFE accreditation
• Experience with tax planning and inheritance tax matters
• Interest in business development and networking
