Job Role: Construction Bid Writer

A Construction Bid Writer is responsible for managing and producing high-quality written content for tenders, pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs), and proposals submitted to clients (public or private sector). The role involves understanding client requirements, gathering technical and commercial input from internal teams, and crafting compelling documents that demonstrate capability, compliance, and value for money.

Key Responsibilities1. Bid Management and Coordination

  • Coordinate the entire bid process from start to submission.
  • Develop and maintain a bid schedule and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Work closely with project managers, estimators, engineers, and commercial teams to gather required information.
  • Attend bid meetings and briefings to understand client needs and clarify submission requirements.

2. Writing and Editing

  • Write clear, concise, and persuasive responses tailored to the tender requirements.
  • Edit and proofread technical and non-technical content for accuracy, readability, and compliance.
  • Ensure that the bid documents align with company branding, tone, and standards.

3. Research and Information Gathering

  • Research the client, project, and competitors to develop a winning strategy.
  • Collect case studies, project examples, and staff CVs to support submissions.
  • Maintain an up-to-date library of standard bid responses, templates, and reference materials.

4. Compliance and Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all submissions fully comply with tender instructions, evaluation criteria, and industry regulations.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy and professionalism in all documents.
  • Conduct reviews and revisions based on feedback from internal stakeholders.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From £24,420.00 per year
