Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and develop high-performing English and Maths teams across all College sites.
  • Drive improvements in learner outcomes, attendance, achievement and progression in GCSEs, Functional Skills and 'stepping stone' qualifications.
  • Embed English and Maths within all curriculum areas, working collaboratively with College leaders and curriculum teams.
  • Ensure timetables, teaching delivery, and interventions enable every student to fully access their English and Maths provision.
  • Champion a positive, engaging, and inclusive approach to English and Maths across the College community.
  • Oversee quality assurance, assessment, and data processes to ensure robust monitoring and continuous improvement.
  • Act as the Department's Safeguarding and Prevent Lead, promoting a safe and supportive learning environment.

About You

We are looking for an inspiring leader with:

  • Significant experience in managing English and/or Maths provision within a further education or secondary setting.
  • A proven track record of improving teaching quality, learner outcomes, and staff performance.
  • Strong people management and communication skills with the ability to lead change and inspire excellence.
  • A commitment to the values of Ambition, Accountability, Inclusion and Integrity.
  • A recognised teaching qualification and relevant subject specialism.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for an ambitious leader who is passionate about English and Maths education and developing the next generation of confident, skilled learners.

To be eligible to apply for this role, you must possess the relevant qualifications listed in the Person Specification. For more information, please refer to the Job Description which outlines the role and person specification in further detail.
