Make a Real Impact as a SEN Maths and English Tutor.

Are you a passionate educator, making a difference in the lives of students with SEN needs? We are looking for experienced and dedicated tutors. You'll provide personalised 1:1 support in Functional Skills Entry Level 1 or KS1 Maths and English. These in-person sessions in Hackney offer the chance to work closely with students, helping them build skills and confidence in a supportive and tailored learning environment.

  • This job is in person in the Hackney area.
  • Hours: Up to 6 hours per week
  • Day(s): Monday - Friday
  • Time(s): 2 hour sessions, 3 times a week. Between 10am and 2pm
  • Subject and Level: Functional Skills Entry Level 1 or KS1 Maths or English
  • Start date: Immediate start
  • Contract Length: end of December 2025
  • Rate of pay: £35ph

What You'll Do

  • Provide tuition that is appropriate for the individuals needs and study level
  • Plan engaging lessons tailored to the unique needs of the student
  • Provide targeted support for student with SEN
  • Assess barriers to learning and create a positive and supportive learning environment
  • Monitor progress, produce reports and adapt teaching strategies to achieve measurable outcomes
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum content and qualification frameworks you're providing subject tuition in
  • Regularly reporting updates to the Tuition Programmes Manager
Requirements

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Experience working with students with SEN in specialist or alternative provisions settings
  • 3+ years of tutoring / teaching experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or HLTA qualification - preferred
  • An ability to adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The right to be self employed in the UK
  • A DBS
