Position: Warehouse Pick Shift Supervisor

Hours: 40 hours per week (exc breaks)

Shift Pattern: Sunday - Thursday (18:30 - 03:00)

The Opportunity:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Warehouse Supervisor to join our Pick Shift at our Primaflow F&P Bedford RDC

The Role:

As the Pick Shift Supervisor, you will report into the onsite Shift Manager.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Shift Supervisor to oversee the evening picking operations in our warehouse. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient and accurate order picking, maintaining productivity standards, and leading a team of Warehouse Operatives. This role requires excellent organisational skills, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Key Result Areas, Tasks and Main Duties:

• Lead, coach, and motivate a team of Warehouse Operatives
• Assign and monitor daily tasks to ensure timely and accurate order picking
• Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and updates
• Promote and maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety policies and procedures
• Conduct regular safety inspections and address any identified hazards
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements
• Oversee the picking process to ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Monitor workflow and adjust staffing levels as needed to meet operational demands
• Ensure all picked orders meet quality standards and customer requirements
• Conduct random checks on picked orders to verify accuracy
• Address any discrepancies or errors promptly
• Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the picking team
• Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members
• Identify training needs and coordinate training
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Collaborate with other supervisors and managers to share best practices and drive overall warehouse performance
• As a key holder you will participate in an on-call rota with other Managers/Supervisors for any security issues/breaches out of hours and will be required to comply with security requirements when opening and locking the site

The Candidate - Skills & Experience required:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a warehouse environment, with at least 2 year in a supervisory role - ESSENTIAL
• FLT licences – counterbalance, reach desirable
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, particularly order picking processes
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Strong organisational and time management abilities
• Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
• Take ownership and care of all stock and orders within the required speed to ensure that the items are dispatched to stores within the right time frame
• Be self-motivated, demanding, hardworking and able to work autonomously
• Be IT literate and have excellent administrative skills
• Be responsive and proactive in your management style to suit operational requirements
• Be prepared to assist with other departments in the store as and when required
