We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced sales professional to join our forward-thinking refinish solutions business based in Shropshire.
The Company
Bitec is an established coatings distribution business based in Telford, Shropshire. We work with many global manufacturers to deliver a comprehensive range of products and services for the coatings industry. From vehicle crash repair, industrial paint processes, commercial vehicle building, plus many more industries, Bitec has the scale and expertise to meet the needs of every coatings business, however complex.
Bitec services trade customers across Shropshire, Mid-Wales and the West Midlands.
The Role
Reporting to our Sales Manager, joining an established team of sales professionals, our New Business Development Manager will be responsible for the generation of new business sales in line with our sales strategy that will lead to growth across the territories we cover.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and secure new customers from agreed target markets in line with the company's growth and profit aspirations.
- Provide hands-on leadership of key sales opportunities for the Bitec business.
- Develop strong working relationships with the Bitec operations team demonstrating an appreciation of operational procedures and challenges.
- Working with the Sales Manager to identify and develop new market sectors in line with the sales strategy, including non-traditional customer categories.
- Qualification and cleansing of prospect data, working with the technical support function and other internal support colleagues to maximise sales activity.
- Maintain a regular flow of in-person customer meetings.
- Ensure accurate record keeping for all new prospects, including contact information and customer status.
- Develop a detailed understanding of the specifications required for each new customer and maintain accurate notes covering all requirements.
To be successful in this role the candidate will have the following experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in a sales environment
- Proven experience in a target driven new business sales role
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong relationship building skills
- High level of communication, interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to influence at all levels
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Flexible and can-do attitude
- Experience in the automotive refinish industry is essential
