Procurement Manager

Therefore, we are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to take our Procurement team to the next level within Grant Thornton. Having been created 3 years ago, Procurement has been increasing its influence. Working for the Senior Procurement Manager who reports to the Director of Procurement and Property, you will be able to bring your experience to take a role in shaping the function. Current supported areas are IT/digital, Properties & Facilities Management, Travel, Recruitment, Events and Marketing with the scope to support all spending as the team develops.

Procurement works with a wide range of subject matter experts across the firm to continually develop and improve our procurement processes and third-party risk management. This opportunity will allow you to use your knowledge of best practices to drive the future of procurement at the firm. You will work with individuals who are passionate about our firm's ESG and inclusion and diversity objectives

A look into the role
As a Procurement Manager within our team, you will:

Be the Procurement lead on a variety of indirect spend projects across the business. You will be perfectly placed to influence key stakeholders in the business to define new and effective procurement strategies to ensure the firm receives best value and risk mitigation from responsible suppliers.

Drive the continual development of our procurement policies and processes, including third-party due diligence and risk management, to ensure we partner with quality organisations that support our values.

Act as a key part of the team to increase the visibility of procurement and to identify opportunities to drive business performance.

With a focus on quality and value, the individual will need to be able to adapt traditional procurement processes to a more agile entrepreneurial organisation by working with an engaged group of service line leaders.

Drive the firms ESG strategy to support our commitment to SBTi and our supplier diversity programme.

Support our stakeholders and finance colleagues to meet their business objectives within budget.

Ensure accuracy of our procurement data (contracts database, spend data, activity tracker).

Knowing you're right for us
Joining us as a Procurement Manager the minimum criteria you'll need is an extensive experience working in indirect procurement with an ability to translate knowledge of procurement best practice into policies and processes. It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don't worry if you don't tick every box, we'll help you develop along the way.

  • You'll be a great communicator and relationship builder
  • You'll be commercially astute, proactive and have proven negotiation experience
  • You'd ideally have experience in professional services, partnerships, or financial services
  • You'll have experience of supplier management, third-party assurance, and risk management
  • You'll have experience of ESG & I&D within the supply chain
  • You'll have experience in Digital & IT procurement, ideally software and hardware
