Our opportunity provides a leading London training programme with hands-on learning. You will work alongside some of the best insurance and reinsurance professionals in the market within the underwriting space.
What is the Opportunity?
The job of the insurance/reinsurance underwriter is to assess and select risks. The underwriter's role is both technical and commercial as the underwriter must determine how much risk to assume and at what cost, what are best terms and conditions of coverage, as well as negotiate and sell the deal to our broker clients.
Our Graduate opportunity is a rotation programme across 4 different teams covering a variety of classes of insurance and reinsurance business. Throughout the two years, you can gain exposure to our insurance and reinsurance businesses, instructor-led workshops, monthly spotlight speaker series with executive leadership, networking events, self-paced course work, and the like.
Depending on the rotation, responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Assisting underwriters during the entire underwriting process, with special focus on the technical tools used to evaluate risk.
Entry of risk information and the maintenance of underwriting files
Monitoring and maintaining accurate and up to date risk data on the underwriting systems.
Maintaining and developing key relationships including brokers and both internal and external clients
Producing management reports, supporting new business development, and marketing
Assistance with profitability analyses, and with reserving
Produce ad hoc reports and analysis
Adjusting reinsurance claims from a diverse multi-class portfolio
Attending meetings and presentations on high value and complex losses
Participating in client visits and audits, developing investigatory skills, and building relationships.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for graduates who are curious and eager to learn You will be a strong communicator, have excellent numerical and analytical skills, and enjoy building relationships and collaborating with others.
Minimum Requirements
Permanent right to work in the UK
Experience gained in the insurance/reinsurance industry via an internship
You should have achieved (or be on target to achieve) an upper second class (2:1) degree or higher from a recognised university in any discipline
Graduated in 2025 / Due to graduate in spring/summer 2026
At least GCSE Grade A (or equivalent) in English and Maths. Ideally having studied Maths at AS/A Level
