The Role - Here's What You Need to Know
Master the Numbers Behind New Homes
- Your work affects 360,000+ people across England
- Help deliver 50,000+ new homes over the next decade
- Manage commercial aspects of £10-100M+ developments
- Master procurement, risk management, and contract negotiations
Why this Isn't Your Average Grad Scheme
You'll be part of the action from the start - working on live commercial management, procurement strategies, and risk mitigation for major residential developments.
Two-Year Structured Programme - Develop deep commercial expertise: Year 1:
- Collaborate with Development teams on procurement and risk management
- Track supplier and joint venture partner performance against contracts
- Support cost planning and project management operations
- Build strong internal client relationships across the business
- Lead contract negotiations - Heads of Terms, Development Management Agreements, Building Contracts
- Monitor contractor performance and contractual obligations
- Review external agreements to identify and manage operational risks
- Maintain relationships with Local Authorities, developer partners, and housing colleagues
- Full RICS support
- Monthly sessions with 10 other graduates
- Part of an established programme (now in its 7th year with 70% of graduates still here after 6 years)
- Mentorship from former graduates who've walked your path
- Successful graduates typically progress into full time roles within the Development Team
- Coordinating multi-million pound construction packages
- Negotiating Heads of Terms and Development Management Agreements
- Managing risk across residential development projects
- Building relationships with contractors, consultants, and joint venture partners
- Monitoring cost performance and contractual deliverables
What We're Looking For:
- A minimum 2:1 degree in Quantity Surveying
- Work experience (internships, part-time jobs, placements all count)
- Ambition to actually make a difference

The Package
London: £31,500 + bonus | Camden office
Manchester: £27,300 + bonus | City centre
