Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable volunteers to support both our events and the delivery of our programme sessions. Volunteers will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming, supportive, and smoothly run experience for all participants — whether at concerts, community events, youth and family sessions, or regular programme workshops and activities.

Volunteers may also support participants during sessions — for example, helping younger people, older adults, or individuals who may need extra support (mobility, hearing, eyesight, confidence, etc.).

As a Volunteer Event Steward, you will also be the friendly and visible presence at events, ensuring the safety, comfort, and guidance of attendees while supporting the wider events and programme team.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome attendees and provide directions or helpful information
  • Support participants during programme sessions, including younger people, older adults, and those needing additional assistance (e.g., mobility, accessibility, confidence)
  • Help create a warm, inclusive, and safe environment for all participants
  • Monitor event and session areas for safety, accessibility, and wellbeing
  • Assist with crowd management and queue control
  • Help set up and pack down event equipment and signage
  • Report any incidents, concerns, or issues to the event or session coordinator
  • Provide general support across events and programme delivery as required
