Second Line Support Engineer

A well-established IT support and managed services provider is looking for an experienced 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join their growing technical team based in Burscough.
The role will be office-based five days a week, supporting a varied client base - primarily remotely, but with occasional on-site visits. As such, candidates must be able to commute daily to Burscough and hold a full UK driving licence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 2nd line technical support to clients via phone, email, and remote tools
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
- Monitor systems and proactively identify potential problems
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation for all technical work
- Liaise with clients to understand issues, offer advice, and deliver best-in-class service
- Escalate complex issues to senior team members when necessary
- Stay up to date with evolving IT trends and best practices
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience in a 2nd line support role within an MSP or similar environment
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, and Windows environments
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Highly organised, customer-focused, and self-motivated
- A collaborative team player who can also work independently when needed
- Must live within a reasonable commuting distance to Burscough
- Full, clean UK driving licence required (occasional travel to client sites)
