LITC is a pioneering social enterprise that leverages the power of Sport, Education,

Technology and Art to empower local communities. We offer a wide range of

programs, including Community Initiatives, International Youth, and volunteering

Projects, Skills Development, and Apprenticeships. Our mission is to engage young

people and adults, help them unlock their potential, and support them in bringing

meaningful change to their local communities.

As we continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking Non-Executive Directors to join our Board and contribute their expertise to help guide LITC's strategic direction, governance, and impact.

Role Summary

As a Non-Executive Director (NED), you will play a vital role in shaping the strategic vision of LITC and ensuring strong governance, accountability, and sustainability. This is an
unpaid

, voluntary position suited to individuals who are passionate about education, social impact, and lifelong learning.

You will work closely with fellow Board members and the senior leadership team to support decision-making, offer independent oversight, and ensure the organisation continues to deliver exceptional outcomes for learners, employers, and communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic advice, challenge, and support to the Executive Team, formed of 4 directors and the chairman.
  • Uphold strong governance and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Monitor performance against strategic objectives and key outcomes.
  • Contribute to risk management, financial oversight, and sustainable growth.
  • Act as an ambassador for LITC, promoting its mission, values, and partnerships.
  • Participate in quarterly Board meetings and occasional sub-committees or strategic planning sessions.

Person Specification

We are particularly interested in senior candidates who bring substantial experience and strategic insight in one or more of the following areas:

  • Further education and training
  • Business development or strategic partnerships
  • Finance, audit, or risk management
  • HR, organisational development, or governance
  • Digital learning or technology in education
  • Community development or social enterprise
