A Great Opportunity to join Brent as an Occupational Therapist
Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent's diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.
The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.
The Post
The Access and Information Team serves as the vital first point of contact for anyone seeking support or guidance from Brent's Adult Social Care services. This team acts as both a gateway and a guide, offering comprehensive information and practical advice to the general public, customer's, carers, and a range of health and social care professionals. Whether the question is about eligibility for support, navigating complex care systems, or accessing essential community resources, the team is equipped to provide helpful, accurate responses that empower our customers to make informed decisions.
Comprised of Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, and dedicated unqualified staff—including Care Assessors and Occupational Therapy Assistants—the team works collaboratively to ensure that every enquiry is handled with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency. Their collective expertise allows them to assess needs holistically and offer tailored solutions, whether those involve signposting to appropriate services, arranging urgent interventions, or providing preventative support to promote independence and wellbeing.
In line with Brent Council's commitment to innovation and excellence, we are seeking to expand our team with two permanent Occupational Therapists. These roles offer a unique opportunity to make a real difference at the very front line of adult social care, supporting our customer from all walks of life across the borough's richly diverse communities. As part of our forward-thinking, people-centred service, you will play a key role in helping residents maximise their independence, improve their quality of life, and remain safely in their own homes for as long as possible.
You will be joining a dynamic, supportive group of professionals at a time of positive transformation for Brent. If you are passionate about making an impact and are eager to contribute to a service that values diversity, continuous learning, and innovation, we encourage you to consider this rewarding opportunity.
