Development Underwriter

About the role:
We're looking for a Development Underwriter to lead Zurich's new business efforts in the Motor sector. In this strategic, growth-oriented role, you'll be instrumental in identifying, securing, and underwriting new opportunities, helping Zurich strengthen its position in the mid-market Motor insurance space.

Your impact:

• Proactively source, develop, and secure new Motor insurance business, driving Zurich's portfolio expansion and market presence
• Build and nurture effective relationships with brokers, clients, and industry partners to unlock opportunities and enhance Zurich's reputation
• Lead the underwriting of complex and high-value Motor risks, delivering tailored solutions that meet the needs of new and prospective clients
• Monitor and analyse market trends and regulatory changes, using your insights to target untapped segments and develop winning business strategies
• You will play a key role in supporting the wider regional team by fostering growth through coaching and development, encouraging collaboration, and driving commercial success.

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience in Motor underwriting, with a focus on business development
• Excellent technical and analytical skills, able to assess complex risks and identify new business opportunities
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills to build enduring market relationships
• A proactive, commercially minded approach with a strong drive for business growth and market engagement
