About The Role
Role Overview

proAV are a leading global audio visual integrator, providing AV and event services across multiple client partnerships globally.

Our immediate requirement is for a Trainee Network Integration Engineer to be a key part of our Egham team, representing proAV, taking full responsibility for supporting the delivery of IT & Networking for Audio Visual projects by assisting senior engineers and project teams. You'll learn to work with customers, consultants, and internal teams to understand project requirements and expectations.

Your focus will be on developing technical skills, gaining experience in producing documentation, and participating in workshops and training sessions. You will help with system setup, testing, and support activities, and gradually take on more responsibility as your skills progress.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established operation with scope to drive and enhance the service at every opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in reviewing system schemes and network architecture under supervision.
  • Support senior engineers in liaising with project departments, consultants, clients, and contractors.
  • Help with the delivery, integration, and maintenance of systems, focusing on learning network design and connectivity.
  • Use proven technology and learn to explore new solutions to technical problems.
  • Participate in physical setup of systems, including hardware and software, to prove concepts.
  • Assist with off-site testing, on-site commissioning, and configuration programming of network requirements.
  • Learn to interact with client network teams to deliver secure and scalable IP-based AV solutions.
  • Follow system schematics and network designs, ensuring all details and changes are recorded.
  • Represent the company professionally and be open to learning from colleagues.
  • Follow an education roadmap, with certification expectations to be met, and supported by the business.

Desirable Skills

  • Basic understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, SSH, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL, Multicast, QoS).
  • Willingness to learn troubleshooting of network communication and issues.
  • Interest in video conferencing systems (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft Teams, Zoom).
  • Curiosity about IP connectivity, control, and distribution (e.g., Crestron, Extron, AMX).

Additional Skills

  • Enthusiasm for learning about AV, VC, and IT equipment from major brands.
  • Willingness to keep up-to-date with AV marketplace trends and products.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving attitude and willingness to ask for help when needed.
  • Organisational skills and ability to work on multiple tasks with guidance.
  • Ability to follow project schedules and plans.
  • Willingness to prioritise tasks and work under pressure with support.

Hours of work
40 hours per week, 9 hours a day, 8.30am-5.30pm, including an hour unpaid break, Monday-Friday.
