The Sales Engineer supports the internal sales team by managing the technical aspects of AV sales opportunities across EMEA. Responsibilities include designing solutions, estimating costs, and verifying technical accuracy from initial enquiry to project award. Working closely with Account Executives and the Technical teams, the Sales Engineer provides expert guidance, creates detailed Bills of Materials, Functional Narrative, Scope of Works, and ensures smooth handover to deployment teams. The role involves client engagement through meetings and site surveys, producing comprehensive documentation and with clear and concise design intent. Strong AV/UC knowledge, experience, and communication skills are essential. This position reports to their functional team leader and collaborates with the Sales Engineering Manager. What You’ll Do? Provide technical input throughout the sales cycle, supporting solution planning and integration strategies with the client and Account Executive. Develop AV/UC system designs aligning client briefs with industry standards and best practices. Produce accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) with costs and estimations, ensuring accuracy and quality is prioritised. Develop high‑level system schematics and detailed PDF markups to support coordination and visualisation of AV solutions. Generate functional narratives and Scope of Works documents to articulate the technical and operational aspects of each solution, aligning with client expectations. Stay current through manufacturing training sessions and industry events to keep ahead of technology trends and enhance career progression with Diversified. Contribute to the development of AV system standards and design templates for Enterprise clients. Provide technical mentorship and conduct peer reviews to support team development and help safeguard project profitability. Deliver thorough handovers to project delivery teams, inclusive of but not limited to the following: BoM, SoW, Functional Narrative / detailed technical brief. Where You’ll Work? This is a hybrid role, primarily remote with ad‑hoc visits and regular team meetings at our office in Egham. Occasional travel to client sites may be required based on project needs. What Skills / Certification Are We Looking For? 3+ years of AV system design experience AVIXA CTS / CTS‑D certification Industry certifications (Crestron, QSC, Dante, Extron) Strong knowledge of AV/UC and AVoIP solutions Proficient in D‑Tools and Visio Experience with Microsoft Office software suite Excellent decision‑making and problem‑solving under pressure Strong time management and organisational abilities Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, and independent Keen interest in emerging technologies Ready to Make an Impact?
