A vibrant and forward-thinking secondary school in Richmond upon Thames is seeking a passionate and dedicated Design & Technology Teacher to join their thriving DT department on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire creativity and problem-solving in young people, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to design and create innovative solutions for the future.

The Role:

  • Deliver engaging and hands-on Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach at Key Stage 5 depending on your specialism and experience.
  • Foster a love of design and technology in students, encouraging them to explore a variety of materials, techniques, and technologies.
  • Create a dynamic and collaborative workshop environment where students feel safe to experiment, innovate, and develop their design and making skills.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of an innovative DT curriculum that reflects current trends and best practices.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support their design and technological development.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum for Design & Technology.
  • A proven track record of successful teaching and learning outcomes in DT.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • A passion for Design & Technology and a commitment to fostering creativity and innovation in young people.
