About us

The UCL Institute for Global Health (IGH) is at the heart of UCL's Grand Challenge of Global Health. The Institute's vision is for a world where international policy on global health is informed by world class research. IGH aims to support the development of robust solutions to aspects of the world's major global health challenges through scholarly outputs, education, public engagement, translational research and ultimately by influencing public policy and professional practice.

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Research Fellow who has the potential to grow into a future leader within the Institute. The post is available for a period of three years. The person appointed will be expected to work with senior members of IGH to develop ideas for and secure funding for a fellowship or other research programme.

About the role

We have recently expanded our research in global mental health and will be starting a new MSc course in September 2026. The ideal candidate will be expected to support the new MSc and develop a portfolio of teaching in global mental health that complements and is informed by research.

We particularly welcome applications from individuals from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds and from women.

This is a full-time role (i.e. 36.5 hours per week) and it is available for three years.

A job description and person specification can be accessed at the bottom of this page.

Salary range: £54,931 to £64,644 per annum (including London Allowance), depending on experience.
