Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will assist in the management and operation of our facility, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. You will work closely with the Manager to implement policies and procedures while providing leadership to staff and support to families.

Duties

  • Assist in the overall management of the nursery, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Provide leadership and support to staff, fostering a positive team environment.
  • Oversee daily operations, including planning and implementing educational programmes that engage children's interests and promote their development.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents, providing updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care, conducting regular risk assessments of the environment.
  • Manage administrative tasks such as record keeping, staff scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Support staff training and development initiatives to enhance their skills in childcare and early education.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a management role within a childcare setting is essential.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Experience working with children, ideally within a nursery or early years education context.
  • A background in early childhood education or relevant qualifications is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • A valid driving licence is desirable for transportation purposes related to nursery activities.
