At Apricot Preschool, we're seeking a passionate Nursery Deputy Manager (Preschool) to support our team in delivering exceptional care and education. To be considered for this role, you must hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification. The successful candidate will spend a minimum of 10 hours per week in the office supporting management duties, with the remainder of their time working within their designated room to lead practice and support the team.

Pay: £29,744 per annum(40 hours per week).

Working Hours: Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week between 8am-6pm

What being a Preschool Deputy Manager involves

As a Deputy Manager, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the Nursery Manager to lead and inspire your team while maintaining excellence in your base room responsibilities. You will:

  • Lead and mentor the nursery team to deliver high-quality early years education with pride and energy.
  • Support the Nursery Manager in overseeing all aspects of nursery operations, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Act as a role model, fostering an environment of initiative, creativity, and high standards of care.
  • Build strong partnerships with families, colleagues, and external agencies to promote collaboration and excellent outcomes for children.
  • Monitor and guide the team's implementation of the EYFS framework, ensuring engaging and nurturing learning opportunities.
  • Take responsibility for the nursery in the Nursery Manager's absence, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, providing constructive feedback and supporting professional development within your team.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that respects the unique needs of every child.

About our Nursery

At our St Neots children's day nursery and Preschool, we follow the Montessori approach in a home-from-home environment. The children in our care learn through play, and the passionate team at our Ofsted-rated 'Good' nursery offer children a variety of activities and learning opportunities every day related to their individual interests, ensuring no two days are ever the same. We are situated on the site of Longsands College, around the back of the school, and are best accessed via Kings Road. We are just a few minutes walk from the train station, where trains run every 30 minutes to Kings Cross, London. The A1 and the A428 are nearby, with bus routes into Cambridge, making us easily accessible for commuters. Our pre-school is only a short walk away and parking is available on both sites.
