Clinical & Safeguarding Lead

Isle of Wight Youth Trust is an independent local charity, working in our local community for 40 years, delivering confidential, professional counselling, therapeutic and wellbeing services for children and young people.

If you want to make a positive difference in the lives of children and young people, we want to hear from you. We are looking for an experienced Clinical & Safeguarding Lead.

Purpose
:

Leading on service delivery and clinical decision making, by directing the waiting list, screening referrals and managing triage, to ensure they are right for the Youth Trust, and escalating to other services as appropriate.

Within the planning for a new Single Point of Access, prioritise early help to avoid escalation and ensure that children and young people with more complex/priority needs are highlighted.

Allocate referrals within Youth Trust to ensure children and young people get the right support for them.

Act as the bridge between voluntary and statutory sector partner organisations, exploring how to maximise opportunities to ensure children and young people get access to the right help, first time.

Overall clinical decision making, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.

Provide line management support to a team of counsellors/practitioners.

Provide supervision to members of the 16-25 Youth Hub team.

Hold a small caseload

Experience
: Holding a core clinical qualification, and with a minimum of 4 years post qualifying experience working in a service supporting the mental health needs of children and young people, you will be experienced at managing clinical risk, making service-level clinical decisions, multi-agency working, and managing a team of practitioners.
