NSB Recruitment is partnering with one of the UK's most progressive and forward-thinking environmental consultancies to appoint a Principal EIA Consultant. This is an exciting opportunity to join an independent, values-led business with an excellent reputation for technical quality, collaboration, and sustainability leadership across the environmental planning space.

As Principal EIA Consultant, you will take a leading role in the delivery of high-profile EIA projects for major development and infrastructure clients. Working alongside a well-established team of specialists, you'll shape project strategies, guide junior colleagues, and help maintain the consultancy's outstanding record of successful outcomes.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on, team-focused environment. You will have genuine influence from early feasibility through to consent, supported by a modern, flexible culture where your voice is heard and your ideas are encouraged.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support EIA projects from initial concept through to submission
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary technical inputs and ensure high-quality deliverables
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, attending meetings and providing confident guidance
  • Offer clear, pragmatic advice on environmental planning and consenting issues
  • Support day-to-day project management to ensure delivery on time and within budget
  • Mentor and develop junior team members within a collaborative and supportive setting

About You

  • Strong track record in EIA delivery, with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams
  • Excellent working knowledge of UK planning and consenting processes
  • Confident communicator, client-facing and commercially aware
  • Team-orientated, supportive and keen to share knowledge
  • Ideally chartered, or working towards chartership
