About Fylde Fresh and Fabulous (FFF)

Fylde Fresh and Fabulous is a leading, fast-paced food processing business dedicated to supplying high-quality, prepared fresh produce to the retail and catering sectors. We are proud of our commitment to food safety, quality, and sustainable farming. We are looking for a motivated and meticulous Quality Assurance (QA) Technician to join our busy Technical Team.

The Role: Essential Quality & Compliance Support

As a QA Technician, you will be crucial in ensuring that all our products and processes meet the highest legal, safety, and customer standards. This is a hands-on role that bridges factory floor auditing with vital administrative compliance.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities for this role include:

  • Farm & Industry Standards Support: Providing comprehensive technical support for our Red Tractor assurance scheme compliance and documentation.
  • Intake & Process Checks: Conducting raw material intake checks and auditing factory processes to ensure quality, hygiene, and adherence to specifications.
  • Traceability Management: Regularly executing and documenting traceability exercises (forward and backward) to guarantee swift and accurate recall capability.
  • Supplier Approval: Supporting the supplier approval process, including document review and risk assessment to maintain our approved supplier list.
  • Audit Support: Assisting with preparations, documentation, and follow-up actions for internal, customer, and third-party audits (e.g., BRCGS).
  • Compliance Systems: Maintaining and updating crucial third-party compliance systems, including the Sedex platform.
  • Technical Administration: Ensuring technical specifications and compliance documents are up-to-date in technical platforms (e.g., FoodExperts).
  • Land Use Compliance: Assisting with the technical compliance aspects related to land management and use, including necessary updates and applications with the Land Registry.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven experience working in a Quality Assurance or Technical role within the food manufacturing industry (fresh produce experience is highly beneficial).
  • Excellent understanding of HACCP, GMP, and Food Safety standards.
  • Familiarity with retailer technical requirements and industry standards such as Red Tractor.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills.
  • Proficiency in using quality management systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and communicate effectively with all factory personnel.
  • Relevant degree (ideally in Food)

Why Join FFF?

We offer a great working environment where quality and safety are paramount. You will have the opportunity to develop your technical skills and contribute directly to the success and reputation of a leading food business.
