About the Role:

Flinders University's College of Science and Engineering is seeking an innovative academic to join our growing team in Cloud Computing. As an Associate Lecturer or Lecturer in Cloud Computing, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching and impactful research that equips students with the skills and knowledge to thrive in an increasingly digital world.

You will also conduct impactful research in areas such as cloud computing, distributed systems, and cloud networking, contributing to the University's growing strengths in computing, software engineering, and digital technologies.

In this position, you will:

  • Deliver innovative, student-centred teaching across cloud computing and related computing disciplines, contributing to curriculum design and topic coordination.

  • Undertake high-quality, impactful research leading to publications, external funding success, and supervision of research students.

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with industry, government, and professional associations to enhance teaching, research, and engagement outcomes.

This position is open to interstate candidates and relocation support is available.

About You:

As an early or emerging academic, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to innovative teaching, research excellence, and collaborative engagement. You will also be motivated to contribute to the College's growing reputation in computing education and applied research.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • As a minimum, satisfactory completion of 4 years of tertiary study (Level A) or completion of a PhD (or equivalent qualification) in computing, with a focus on cloud computing, distributed systems, or cloud networking (Level B).

  • The ability to deliver high-quality, engaging teaching at tertiary level, including topic coordination and curriculum design. Ability to develop and deliver topics in cloud computing at both introductory and advanced levels, and contribute broadly to computing-related topics.

  • A strong research track record (relative to career stage) in an area of software engineering and/or cloud computing, evidenced by quality publications and/or competitive research funding.

Desirable:

  • Experience supervising honours and higher degree research students.

  • Experience contributing to curriculum reviews and accreditation activities.
