Housing Income Team Leader

Location: Manchester (Hybrid Working Available)

Reports to: National Housing Manager

Responsible for: Housing Income Officers

Salary £40,925

Golden Lane Housing is looking for an experienced Housing Income Team Leader to lead our income management service. This is a key role ensuring financial sustainability, tenancy support, and compliance across our Supported Housing portfolio.

About the Role

You'll manage a team of Housing Income Officers, oversee rent income operations, and act as our expert on Specialist Supported Housing particularly Exempt and Managed accommodation. Working closely with tenants with a learning disability or autism, their representatives, and key stakeholders, you'll drive performance, improve processes, and maintain regulatory excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, setting and reviewing KPIs
  • Ensure rent account accuracy, arrears control, refunds, and suspense management
  • Liaise with housing benefit departments, support providers, and internal teams
  • Monitor arrears performance and produce accurate reports for audits and reviews
  • Drive service improvement and compliance with GLH policies, including safeguarding and data protection
  • Coach and mentor colleagues to build capability and resilience

What We're Looking For

  • Experience managing customer-focused services in Supported Housing
  • Experience of Housing Benefit legislation surrounding Exempt and Managed Housing.
  • Experience of partnership working with a range of agencies to deliver quality services to the public.
  • Proven leadership and coaching skills
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational abilities
  • Familiarity with rent systems and housing finance platforms
  • A valid driving licence and flexibility for occasional travel and out-of-hours meetings
