If so, we’d love you to join us as an Income Recovery Officer on a fixed term contract, ending 31st December 2026.This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dedicated team, working to maximise rental income, prevent arrears, and support residents to maintain successful tenancies.Please note, a full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle are essential for this role.About the RoleAs an Income Recovery Officer, you’ll manage a caseload of rent accounts and take proactive, person-centred action to recover arrears. You’ll work closely with residents, support services, and colleagues across WCHG to deliver a responsive and effective income management service.You’ll also handle legal action where necessary, balancing firm enforcement with a strong commitment to tenancy sustainment and customer care.What You’ll Be DoingManaging rent arrears cases from early intervention through to legal enforcementProviding advice and support to help tenants meet payment responsibilitiesReferring residents to financial inclusion or tenancy support services where neededNegotiating affordable repayment plans and monitoring compliancePreparing legal documentation, serving notices, and attending court as requiredWorking flexibly across a designated patch to meet service delivery targetsMaintaining accurate records and updating internal systemsPromoting a supportive, solution-focused approach to income recoveryWhat We’re Looking ForExperience in income recovery, housing management or a customer-focused roleExperience dealing with both Leaseholders and Shared OwnersUnderstanding of Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, and tenancy lawStrong communication and negotiation skillsConfident working under pressure and managing a busy caseloadAbility to analyse rent accounts and take appropriate actionComfortable working independently and as part of a teamSound IT skills and attention to detail in record-keepingA flexible, empathetic, and professional approachWillingness to work flexibly, including occasional out-of-hours work on a rota basisFull UK driving licence and access to a vehicleApplication Deadline - Sunday 7th DecemberPlease note the above date is subject to change, and the advert may be closed early dependent on applications received.
