We are a family business looking to recruit an Engineering Workshop Operative to join our Production team. The Workshop Operative role is essential in supporting all production and general workshop activities within Trent Instruments, along with performing various tasks to ensure the efficient flow of goods. Working primarily as part of the Workshop Production team to support manufacture, overhaul, maintenance and assembly of products, whilst also supporting goods in and out and completing general workshop tasks in order to ensure customer SLA's are achieved and to aid the business in being agile in adapting to customer needs. .
This position is a full time, permanent role (temporary or part time considered) and is available with an immediate start.

The role
As an Engineering Workshop Operative, you will report directly to our Production Supervisor.
As part of a small team of Engineering Worksop Operatives, you will support the business with manufacture, overhaul, maintenance and assembly of products by following Work Instructions to complete work to the relevant standards within the set timeframes.
Other duties will include:
- Production of goods, including light engineering duties such as rework, tapping, wiring and assembly.
- Overhaul and maintenance work such; stripping, cleaning and repair work.
- Use of machinery (such as Shot blaster) as part of cleaning and maintenance processes.
- Ensure all engineering work and solutions fulfil Safety Critical standards where needed.
- Work within business health and safety policies and ISO standard environment.
- Supporting Stores with goods in and out.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and workshop housekeeping.
The candidate
Our ideal candidate will have some experience in a similar role to a Engineering Workshop Operative, who is able to hit the ground running within a busy workshop environment.
They should demonstrate the following skillset:
- Have light engineering skills
- A keen interest in engineering and the willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Ability to work both part of a team and individually
- Ability to follow company procedures, including safety procedures
- Organised and capable of following written and verbal work instructions
- Strong time management skills.
- Attention to detail / accuracy.
- Be enthusiastic, confident and have a positive personality.
