We are currently looking to add to our asbestos removal team with two Asbestos Removers.

Your next role

The Asbestos removal team supports our housing/voids/capital teams in undertaking the removal of hazardous asbestos containing material prior to maintenance and refurbishment works. They support our in-house team and contractors in removal of ACMs from the council's buildings. This includes

• Removal and encapsulation of asbestos containing materials as directed by your supervisor or manager.
• You will be required to do small repairs to ceiling and re-artex them. Also guttering downpipes and hoppers and boxings and shelfs etc.
• You will also undertake an asbestos operative 3-day course with an exam and must be willing to travel to Southampton where the ARCA course is.

You will be working with asbestos insulation, asbestos coatings and asbestos insulation board under supervision which requires analytical and judgmental skills.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to follow the procedures laid down by Plans of Work, undertake risk assessments and be aware of legislation whilst working with asbestos.

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of part 7 Of the Immigration act – for the effective performance of a customer facing role).
