Hours of work

Monday to Friday

39 hours per week:

Monday to Thursday 07:55 – 16:35

Friday 07:55 – 13:35

Hybrid working (2 days in-office per week after training)

Overview

As part of our growing tech team, this role is responsible for the development and maintenance of internal and external platforms using Laravel and related technologies. The developer will contribute to both new feature development and modernisation of legacy systems, ensuring performance, scalability, and maintainability.

1. Development

Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Laravel and PHP.

Migrate legacy systems to modern Laravel architecture.

Build multi-tenant SaaS applications with proper isolation and scalability.

Integrate third-party APIs and services.

Develop responsive frontend components using JavaScript or React).

Optimize database queries and implement caching strategies (e.g., Redis).

2. Support

Provide support for internal platforms and tools.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the tech stack.

Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth deployment and maintenance.

3. Performance Improvement

Review existing systems and identify opportunities for optimization.

Implement best practices for performance, security, and maintainability.

Contribute to continuous improvement of development workflows.

4. Customer Management

Work with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.

Attend project meetings and provide technical input.

Ensure customer expectations are managed and met.

5. People

Collaborate effectively with other developers and departments.

Share knowledge and support junior team members.

Maintain constructive communication across the business.

6. Other Duties

Perform other related duties as required in support of the department and business goals.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in software development (PHP / Java).
  • At least 2 years of hands-on Laravel experience.
  • Experience with REST API design and integration.
  • Familiarity with database design and performance optimization.
  • Experience with frontend frameworks / React).
  • Experience with Redis, Git, and CI/CD workflows.

  • Strong PHP and Laravel coding skills.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.

  • Ability to analyse data and present findings.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.

Equivalent professional experience considered.
