About Us

We're a small, ambitious MedTech start-up developing a new medical device with the potential to make a real impact in healthcare. Working from the Bay Innovation Centre in Port Talbot, we're entering a key stage of R&D and regulatory preparation and need someone who can help us clearly communicate our science, technology, and compliance journey.

The Role

We're seeking a motivated Technical Writer to take the lead on preparing clear, accurate documentation to support both grant funding applications and regulatory submissions. This is a hands-on role in a very small team, ideal for someone who is highly organised, enjoys taking ownership of projects, and can work independently. You'll help create funding proposals, system procedures, and technical files that support our progress toward ISO 13485, UKCA, and MHRA compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write and coordinate high-quality grant funding and R&D documentation.

  • Prepare and maintain technical and quality documents (e.g. procedures, design summaries, risk files).

  • Translate complex engineering and clinical ideas into clear, well-structured language.

  • Support development of submission materials for UKCA and MHRA approvals.

  • Work independently to establish and maintain documentation standards.

About You

You're a self-starter with excellent writing and organisation skills who's comfortable working in a small, collaborative environment. You can quickly understand new concepts, ask the right questions, and produce clear, accurate work. Experience with ISO 13485 or regulated documentation is helpful but not essential—enthusiasm for learning and attention to detail matter more.
